Whenever a new Macross game is announced, there's generally a good amount of fanfare since the brand is well known and beloved by international fan base. The buzz has been building in Japan over the past couple of weeks and Bandai's latest Macross game is another 3D mission-based shooting game. Players take control of a Valkyrie which can transform into three forms - battroid, jet fighter, and robot.
Over 40 Valkyries may be piloted in the game including the YF-19, VF-1S Strike Valkyrie, VF-19, YF-21, and the VF-1J. The Valkyries may be upgraded and customized during the course of the missions. Roughly 30 characters from the Macross universe also appear for dramatic foil. To enhance the atmosphere of the game world, Bandai also throws in speech snippets and a number of classic songs from the various Macross series.

Hot on the heels of the first Valis Gashapon Set which arrived last month, Millennium releases the second set to market. Valis Gashapon Vol. 2 features another four standard figures and NCS gathers them up into complete sets which are priced at US$26.90. The standard characters in the new set are:

» Valna - sedate pose with a convoluted staff weapon
» Yuko Asao - wears a skimpy ocher costume with two weapons

All preorders for the following Japanese imports will ship today: NDS Unknown Soldier: Mokuba no Houkou, PS2 Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Special, PSP Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist, PSP Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist Limited Edition, PSP To Love Ru Trouble: Doki Doki! Rinkaigakkou LE, and X360 Raiden IV.
The first printing of Raiden IV includes a bonus Raiden IV Ooparts CD in every copy and all preorders for the two versions of PSP Ikkitousen will ship with a bonus placard which features three characters from the popular series. If you move the placard to and fro slightly, the bosoms of the three heroines will seemingly shift and swing from side to side. Finally, all preorders for the PSP To Love Ru Trouble game will ship with a bonus placard which features Lala on one side and Haruna on the flipside. Subscriptions for the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (Vol. 1035) will also go out today.

Recent toy renditions from various manufacturers have turned Kanu into a cat girl, a swimsuit model, and other tangents that strayed far from her original persona. Toys Works brings Kanu full circle to the incarnation that started her meteoric rise in the Japanese toy marketplace. The new Kanu measures 20cm or 7.87" tall and is fixed pose. She lifts her right leg in a sort of crane-style pose while a shred of what might be described as a dress shifts to the side to reveal her skivvies.
The Kanu figure is mounted on a circular pedestal and may be armed with the Blue Dragon Crescent spear that's included in the packaging. Preorders will ship today and new orders are welcome to ship this afternoon. Due to the size of the figure and packaging, NCS recommends only shipping by UPS Ground within the United States.
