Vib-Ribbon caused a bit of excitement when it was released back on December 9, 1999 in Japan. Apparently, Sony also released a Vib-Ribbon t-shirt to go along with the game as a bit of promotional fodder to incite fans into buying their vector masterpiece. NCS never received these shirts when the game was originally released and we would have never known about them had it not been for an offer of old stock from overseas. NCS was contacted by a vendor a few weeks ago. The IM exchange went something like this: Vendor: You're into weird stuff, yes? NCS: How much is it going to set us back? Vendor: For you, special price. NCS: What is it? Vendor: Old t-shirts we found in our warehouse. NCS: Are they worn? Used? Torn? Vendor: Ah, no. New. But looks like child's sketches on black cotton. NCS: What is it, kind sir? Vendor: Says Vib-Ribbon on it. You want them or not? Time is money. At first, we figured they were shirts we could actually wear and even if the design was bad, they'd be useful as dish rags. When the shirts arrived a little over a week ago, we opened one up only to discover that they were way too small to wear. A petite size for petite people...which excludes anyone who fits a Medium or Large. The shirt would fit a young kid comfortably or someone with a Medium build uncomfortably - we're talking bulging at the seams here. The shirts were too nice to use as dish rags or pot scrubbers so here they are. They're collectible, sort of, and we've never seen them offered anywhere else. We wouldn't recommend putting the shirt on if you're a Medium or Large since you'll stretch it beyond recognition but it'll look okay in your collection of weird and rare(?) video game merchandise. There is no tag on the t-shirt but it feels like cotton and the collar is a V-neck.
