Description
From the publisher
Blitz: The League brings you more Blitz-style play, but with more content and harder hits. The League includes on-field injuries, ranging from snapping bones to bloody, career-ending hits. Now you can control the entire franchise, dealing with personnel decisions and front-office politics. New visual game modes let you view crucial game moments and moves in slow motion. In addition to traditional multiplayer, you can also play the no-holds-barred style of Blitz football online.

NCS Game Notes
* The title screen of the game shows bloody bandages wrapped mummy-style around a footballer's hands.

* Since Electronic Arts bought exclusive rights to the NFL, companies like Midway have to shoulder onwards with fictional teams. Blitz the League is the continuation of the NFL Blitz series. They could have called it Bleep the Bleeping League also.

* Every button is used in the game and commands change depending on whether you're on offense or defense.

* If you perform a dirty hit, the game will tell you. Players will also trash talk during a game for some colorful on-field antics. When a player scores a touchdown, he'll clown around like a pro.

* Pile drivers and clotheslines are possible defensive tackles. Yes, piledrivers. No, it's not wrestling... it is football. The clash meter keeps track of how much power you have available for clash moves and power attacks.

* The announcer in the game sounds like Bob Costas. The rappers who spit the theme song once one enters the locker room to start the game talk some serious smack.

* When it rains in the game, drops will stick on the camera lens.

* Lawrence Taylor visited the Jimmy Kimmel Show on October 21, 2005 to promote the game and tout its features. Other guests on the show included James Denton of Desperate Housewives fame and cherubic man-child Andy Molinakis who showed off dumb superhero powers including Meatball Dropper Man and Icecube Tray Man. Kimmel seemed to enjoy it and chuckled throughout the appearance.
