Update: July 21, 2008 «©NCSX» The new HRAP-Orange is an Amazon Japan exclusive item which was released last Thursday. To make sure we got to check one out quickly, NCS imported a batch with overnight express service and they're in stock today. Feels just like a HRAP 2 with sturdy Sanwa parts and a heavy duty base. The rapid-fire slider console on the upper left remains the same as well. The top of the controller is covered by a metallic plate bolted down by six lugs. The body is ABS plastic and sturdy, just like the original Real Arcade Pro. The joystick is clicky but the clicks are more muted than other sticks which clack loud. The buttons are springy and bounce back nicely once depressed and let go. We enjoyed using the stick for fighting games on the PS2 but it also works well with shooters. However, instead of placing the joystick on say, a lap, we prefer placing it on a little table in front of a monitor. Its weight and size allows for planting on table tops for shiftless gaming where it won't move easily no matter how feverishly the joystick is wagged. The upper left portion of the joystick is fitted with a little console which contains slide levers which control rapid fire for all of the buttons on the joystick. There are three gradations of fire for each button. The joystick weighs 5.73 lbs or 2600g and is packaged in a massive cardboard box. Preorders will ship today at US$135.90 each + shipping. Due to the heavy weight of the stick, NCS recommends UPS Ground for customers who reside within the continental UPS to avoid onerous air service charges. Please note the Hori RAP is a dimensional weight item of 18 lbs. As such, NCS recommends only shipping by UPS Ground within the United States.
