Update: July 27, 2006 «©NCSX» The good folk of Tokyo drive during the day and sleep at night. Except for the occasional cabbie who ventures out with a late fare or a salaryman who rebels against convention, Shuto Expressway is deserted as dusk settles in. As the twilight hours twinkle in time with the stars, a subculture awakens and prepares for underground racing. Throttling through the arteries of Shuto Expressway and battling for rank against rival racers, drivers reach blistering speeds and rankle the collective disposition of the authorities. The latest Shutoko Battle game features polished visuals and recreates many of the major sights seen as one travels across the length of the highway including the obnoxious Roppongi Hills complex, the recognizable 32-floor Shibuya Cross Tower, and the Shinjuku High Rise Complex which is comprised of 33 buildings. The standard Spirit Point system remains the same where a lead racer saps SP from a rival. If your SP points drop to zero, the race is over. If you fall behind, it's possible to stanch the SP drain by catching up to a challenger and overtaking him. Another new addition to Shutoku X is the introduction of racing up until the early morning hours when night slowly turns into dawn. In the Tuning Shop and Car Shop, all of the parts are in English. Seats, steering wheel, engine, etc are customizable. The names of the courses are in Japanese. Please note that Shutoko Battle X does not boot on USA Xbox 360 consoles.
