A prequel to the original Saturn Black Matrix game, BMZ takes place 100 years before the events in BM and features a character named Cardi who has the option of siding with the black or white angels. Cardi's quest involves venturing forth to rescue a friend who has been kidnapped by a gang of angels. An opposing group of angels bestows the wings upon Cardi and gives him the power to save his friend.
