Picking up immediately after the events in the first Kingdom Hearts, Sora is taking a midnight stroll and thinking of old friends when he encounters a stranger at a crossroads. The man advises Sora that what he searches for is ahead but that something dear to him will also be lost. With that, the stranger disappears and the crossroads morph into a straight path. Meandering further, Sora reaches the gates of a castle and enters...only to find it empty. A strange occurrence robs Sora of his memories and sends him scuttling on a quest to regain them with the help of a few friends borrowed from Disney. Kingdom Hearts features a card based battle system where Sora amasses card points and carries up to 3 decks of 99 cards each. Cards are flipped to enhance abilities, cast spells, and level attacks at enemies. Special cards may also be used to summon old friends from the original Kingdom Hearts to help in battle.
