Update: March 23, 2006 «©NCSX» Gokou rushes off into a new adventure where the spiky-haired lad punches and jumps in side scrolling platform action. Controls are of the rudimentary sort with "A" forcing Gokou to jump and "B" setting off a punch/slash attack. To unleash a special whirling roundhouse stick attack, press the "Left Trigger." Later in the game, Gokou will learn how to tap his inner power and throw fireballs by holding the "Right Trigger." A life bar meters the amount of vitality remaining but apples and burgers may be picked up along the way to replenish life force. When enemies are close, Gokou will perform a punch but if they're a little farther away, a bo stick lashes out pain. The first level introduces gamers to troll-like monsters and flying creatures that bear a likeness to pterodactyls. Some of the winged beasts drop bombs on Gokou so take them out at first sight. The first end level boss is a patsy and one should be able to knock him out fairly quickly. In the second level, Gokou takes to the air on a cloud and battles more pterodactyls and a pig which changes into a red bat which in turn eventually morphs into a powerful missile. It'll launch nasty rocket exhaust blasts as well as charge into Gokou with a pointy beak. This one's a little trickier but the key to winning against it is to jump whenever it tries to attack... Later in the game, Gokou will face off one-on-one against adversaries, travel to new and exciting lands, and meet goofy characters who offer help and hints. Power-ups are also available for the picking including one which grants temporary invincibility and another which extends the reach of the bo-stick. There is one level where the attackers fire off a lot of bullets. To counter the buckshot, press up on the D-pad and hold B. Gokou will perform a spinning defensive maneuver which sends bullets right back at the shooters. View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX website. This document is ©NCSX 2006.
