Please note this item is SOLD OUT. Additional supplies are expected on April 5, 2006 for new orders. After that, who knows? Update: March 29, 2006 «©NCSX» Castle Paltina has fallen, the King has died, and Princess Yggdra runs away to fight another day. Yggdra Union starts off with a tutorial which introduces players to the background of the game and teaches warriors on the ways of proper battlefield manners. Take on the role of a stray thief named Milanor who meets up with Princess Yggdra as she mounts concerted attacks to eventually retake her castle from the invading army. Since Yggdra wields the golden Gran Centurio sword, it shouldn't be much of a fight... In the first mission, players activate five tactics cards and head for an overworld map where the party is represented by squat team members. Battles are called "Unions" in the game where the hero engages an enemy by pressing the "START" button and then selecting a target enemy such as the assassin, the bandits, and the valkyries in the tutorial. When the battle begins, the party is seen rushing onto the battlefield from the left and hacking the enemy on the right with a pre-emptive attack. Once a few enemies are killed based on the strength of the initial attack, the remaining enemy force counterattacks and then both sides stand at odds, hacking and slashing away at each other. The screen is split by a crevice but attacks and strikes are shown in animated sequences where the hero's army eventually defeats the enemy who then expires in a clump on the ground. The battles are reminiscent of Advance Wars in the manner that units attack and are shown in fighting sequences. After each battle, new cards may be won to enhance your party and add to your arsenal. Fairly early on in the game, an elite battalion of soldiers appears but since there's no way that Milanor and Yggdra can take them on, the game teaches the gamer that it's possible to escape to a safe house and advance on to the next stage... Although the party starts off with 5 battle and tactics cards, they'll have 9 cards after the second battle against Izughi. There are placeholders for a total of 30 cards in the selection screen which are gradually amassed as the party battles through the ranks.
