«©NCSX» Its all-out war when combatants held aloft on balloons battle by bopping each other's balloon. Played in similar fashion to Joust from Williams (1982), fighters pop the balloons being held by enemy forces. Once popped, the hapless foe falls to earth slowly on a parachute. To commit the final destruction of each downed enemy, bop atop it again to shuffle it off the virtual coil. Take too long to pop a grounded foe and it'll soon pump up a new balloon to take it aloft once more. If a falling enemy happens to plunge into water, a sea monster rises up in an arc to gobble it up. In later levels, lightning sparks from dark clouds ricochet around the screen to pop any balloons in its path and a little windmill of sorts sends balloonists flying off in wayward directions. An intermission level in the game forces a floater to pop balloons that rise up from columns with a 500 point bonus for each successful catch. View a larger photo of this item.
