Update: November 17, 2005 NCS Synopsis: We have about 10 different Nintendo DS stylus styles at this time. Manufacturers such as Hori and Keys Factory have helped contribute to the collection but freebies from Japanese shows and bonus schwag from games have also added to the growing selection that we may poke with. In its second Nintendo DS product offering for the week, Sega Logistics releases a different type of stylus that diverges from the traditional pen shape and goes with a rectangular sheath which holds an oddly shaped stylus. Sega includes two Detekuru Touch Pens inside the blister pack which are identical except for the sheath color. We thought yesterday's Comfortable Touch Pen from Hori was pretty good but this one is also fairly comfortable to use - rest the rectangular bulk on your middle finger while the pointer finger and thumb grip the pointer part. An obvious drawback of the Sega stylus is the inability to mount it directly to the Nintendo DS but it does have a little hole on the case where a string may be threaded through to connect to the NDS or your belt loop. The retractable stylus design is also a nice touch for ease of storage. Preorders will ship today and new orders are welcome at US$8.50 for a pack which contains a pair of pens.
