«©NCSX» Learning the Korean language ain't easy. The Hangul alphabet is made of 24 basic characters which are broken up into 14 consonants and 10 vowels. Then there are double consonants for five of the characters, eleven diphthongs, and a "ranking system" when addressing people. For example, you'd address a respected elder differently than you would a punk kid with a bad haircut. But a bunch of Westerners like us wouldn't know any better and we'd address an old man as if he were a lil' kid.

If you ever decide to learn Korean, you might as well do it under the tutelage of Korean actor Bae Yong-Joon who has appeared in films and television serials. We hear that women swoon for this guy. Don't ask why. In any case, Yong-Joon takes on the persona of a teacher named "Yong-sama" who guides language learners through exercises, drills, and lessons on Korean. There's also a collection of Korean recipes and some fortune telling fun.

The software teaches Korean by way of listening exercises, pronunciation drills, and character writing which is repeated to engrain the information in the learner's brain. The software recommends practicing at least 30 minutes each day over a 45 day stint to gain a basic understanding of Hangul. At the end of those 45 days, you should be able to walk into a Korean restaurant and order a meal and ask the waiter where the restroom is.

The limited edition of Bae Yong-joon to Manabu Kankokugo DS includes the following bonus items:

1) Nintendo DS carrying pouch that's imprinted with Bae Yong-joon's autograph
2) A set of five postcards that bear Bae Yong's photograph in various situations
