Update: July 20, 2003 «©NCSX» The Tri-force of Sega, Namco and Nintendo flex their collective muscle with F-Zero GX. Cinemas of the game shown thus far are highly impressive with speedy futuristic racers skimming the winding, looping roads of an industrial colored metropolis.Update July 23, 2003: Please note that the F-Zero GX game is partially incompatible with the Datel Freeloader. Customers who are using the Datel Freeloader to play Gamecube imports will experience screen anomalies when playing F-Zero GX on a USA or European console. Based on the information received thus far, F-Zero GX appears to utilize a graphic overlay to display some data on-screen which is rendered separately from the main graphical portion in the game. Upon starting F-Zero on a USA/EUR Gamecube with Freeloader, the main options menu which shows the nine different game modes is missing and players will only see the background. Choosing the game options become a guessing game but if you don't move the D-pad and simply press "B", you'll play the "Grand Prix" mode. Move the D-Pad once over to the right and you'll hit "VS Battle" and move over to the right once again to play "Time Attack." The vehicle and character selection screen works fine but once the race starts, the data overlay portion of the screen goes missing. Thus, the lap indicator, time limit, speed gauge and the column of competitors on the left side of the screen are gone. The actual racing portion of the game displays perfectly but again, the data overlay portion goes bye-bye with Freeloader. Modified USA Gamecubes will display F-Zero GX without any problems. Update July 29, 2003: Codejunkies has posted up an Gamecube Action-Replay code which solves the F-Zero GX screen problems. A variant code is also offered below for those who enjoy variety.
