Update: November 27, 2003 «©NCSX» If Japanese candy toys and capsule figures came to life, they might do battle like the wee warriors in Capcom's 3-D fighting action game Gotcha Force. Various previews have likened the game to Powerstone but the game acts more like a Virtual-On. Flighty toys with dash capability zoom like a Virtuaroid and long-range targeting attacks are common-place. Toys with jump-jet skills take to the skies, target grounded foes and blast away from an elevated position. Explosions and concussion blasts also have that Virtual-On flavor. Capcom touts over 100 types of fighting toys but they fall into two basic archetypes - ground-based toys and flight-capable toys.In an example of a ground-based toy, a squat and unwieldy green tank treads deftly along a level and is heavily shielded enough to and takes fire from all fronts. Essentially a hopelessly grounded fighting machine, the tank nevertheless puts up some resistance with it's three guns and heavy armor. A comical effect occurs when a fat tank or other toy takes a blast up front where they roll head over heels backwards. Up to four players may join the action in competitive or cooperative forays. Successful battles earn more toys which are added to your collection. Toys may also be joined together to form new types and amalgams. In addition to the afore-mentioned long-range fighting, many toys also slash with weaponry and dole out various close-range attacks. A few also dispense special moves which are based on their toy "physiology." Jan Code: 4976219914963 This document is ©NCSX 2003. All rights reserved.
