Owen (7): Great Game
Metal Gear solid what a magnificint game don't you think? I mean it's one of those titles That always make gamer glad to be snake and doing some espionage. Now Gamecube get Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes the remake from silicon Knights of the Playstation Version. This Game was first showed last year talking a MGS for Gamecube. While fanboys rejoiced we waited patiently and waited days to years now its here and This Is what I got to say. Story For those who played part one they know the story already but if you didn't Snake is sent to Alaska to stop a nuclear threat from hitting America. Low and Behold There is enemies of course that try to stop snake from his doings. Now since snake is fighting for his cause he is really being manipulated in more ways than one learning something interesting about this Nuclear threat. What can it be? Well thats for you to find out if you didn't play it from PS yet. Sound and Acting The sound on The Gamecube version is ok comparing to PS. In some points I think Silicon Knights got lazy in some areas. One sometimes I feel the voice acting got a little bit lazy. Some scene's where it is action packed the actors themself don't really sound into it. I understand it's a game but games are like movies that either keep the gamer Playing or make the gamer walk away because of boredom. The Music however is classic. The Orchastrated themes and the adrenaline is highly improved with some new tracks. The Game also feature some decent gun shots and sometimes fairly Decent in voice acting. Graphics and more The graphics in Twin Snakes don't cease to amaze me. I mean Snake looks like snake and he has eyes which he didn't in the PS Version. What made me kind of glad that graphics was in this game is now I can see psycho mantis's face. In PS it didn't look horrible but on Gamecube at least you can understand why Meryl says "EWW GROSS". The only thing I could say is That Silicon Knights was watching a lot of matrix movies because Bullet time is implamented in this game. I saw Snake Dodging bullets and doing some Neo moves. Even Though that was implamented it didn't look bad but gave the game a action feel than the generic metal gear solid feel. Gameplay And control Metal Gear Solid is a easy game to pick up and learn quickly. The A.I in this version is a little bit smarter than the one's in MGS PS version. If you played Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty the A.I acts more like the A.I in the ps2 version. When your spotted they run back and call for backup so they can take you out. What Also improved in the game is Snake has the ability like in part 2 for ps2 to shoot in first person. He can also Dive like in PS2 and dangle over ledges. This makes the game a little bit easier than the PS version since PS version we never had that oppertunity. Yet these features in the game made it a bit more enjoyable since you can hold the guy up like you did in son of liberty which is funny when the guards Say "DONT KILL ME" and do some weird dance. Control in MGS: TS is really simple even on a Gamecube controller you will get use to it simply. L and R is for inventory, B is to punch, A to shoot, X to activate things and Y to crawl and dive. Snake move to every command if you play with Pad or Analog its up to you. I use pad since I played MGS like that. What makes the game interesting is the stealth elements implamented in the game. He has his usual Lean on the wall and tap the wall to lure guards and he can now peek corners. He can drag enemies now to hide bodies in lockers so guards wont go on alert. Yet Still guards do disappear when another guard spots them. Draging bodies is helpful and hiding them is crucial but not that crucial cause This game is based on action mostly. Thoughts now After What I seen Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes is a great game the only problem with it though is..... nothing is Really new. If you played MGS for PS the games are practically the same. Don't really expect a Major differences like the RE remake for Gamecube. The game is short.... I mean REAL short if you played PS version MGS wasn't that long. Also Like I said before in certain area's of the game the voice acting disappointed me sometimes. The Ninja's Famous like "HURT ME MORE" sounded like a boring "hurt me more...". I wished the voice acting in some scene's not all were kind of better cause the game did have powerful voice acting on PS. Overall MGS: Twin Snakes is a great remake for Gamecube except nothing was really new that makes you go OOOOH and AHHH. The only things changed is the CG when snake did some matrix moves and made some gamers smile. Overall though MGS: TS is a enjoyable game and Very fun with the new features. The story is still fantastic and the gameplay is still solid.
