«©NCSX» Soccer clubs from 58 countries (mostly from fanatical nations in Europe, South America, and Asia) assemble in Konami's latest edition of Live World Soccer for another go at the gold. Game players who have their own ideas of the perfect team may create a custom phalanx and face off against the world league. Live 2002's game play strives for realism, which makes for a slightly slower moving game than Winning Eleven 6 on the Playstation 2. The measured pace should suit ardent fans of the series but prove distracting to those used to faster soccer games. Other reality touches include atmospheric effects which affect lighting, field conditions, and players who emote facial expressions and mannerisms. They're not always stoic and stone-faced but yell, bellow, and act like soccer players will act. In-game modes include an exhibition Friendly Match, full International Cup, Custom League, and World League seasonal matches, and a helpful Training option where you can hone your skills.
