Feb. 18, 2003 A few weeks ago, EMS Industrial released their Gamecube Memory Adapter which allowed the transfer of save-game data from a USB memory card to PC hard drive for archival purposes, online swapping and other purposes. Fresh from their versatile GC hack, a similar device for the PS2 was released a few days ago.Somewhat more convenient to use than the previous EMS Memory Card adapter for the PS2 which used flash ram, the new version allows the transfer of game data (and the DVD drivers files for the Japanese SCPH-10000 v1.00 and v1.01) from an official PS2 memory card (that you supply) to your PC's hard drive via USB connection. Once transferred, data may be archived, sent around the globe or hacked for whatever reason you can think of. The memory adapter is also outfitted with a FORMAT button to erase data on any PS2 memory card that is inserted in the front slot. Armed with one of these, the hardcore RPG fan will never lose game saves again once the data has been archived onto whatever medium available to you. Once backed up, data may be transferred from PC to any memory card that is inserted into the Memory Adapter. A floppy disk is included which contains driver software and instructions from EMS. Please note that the PS2 and PC must be connected to the memory adapter at the same time.
