Update: November 17, 2005 NCS Synopsis: As an accessory manufacturer, Hori has to continually think of new products to keep the revenues rolling in. Every new console or handheld becomes a hotbed of activity as innovative products make their way from drawing board to prototype to manufacturing line. We're not sure how the creative process for the Hori NDS Case Cover came about but we can theorize. We're guessing that a Hori employee became tired of lugging an NDS and loose games inside a pouch and decided to create a shell which clamps to the top of the NDS and holds games. No more need for a pouch. Once clamped, the thickness of the Nintendo DS profile nearly doubles because the cartridge receptacle protrudes outwards. To store games in the receptacle, flip it open and insert the games inside and clamp it down again. Once closed, the cartridges may be viewed from the outside like a gallery. While the Case Cover won't ever become a "must-have," it is an interesting bit of kit that serves its purpose as a bolt-on NDS cartridge holder. View larger photos of this item on the main NCSX site.
