Update: February 19, 2004 All preorders and new orders for the Onimusha Soul Controller are shipping today. It took our driver about an hour to clear out all of the boxes from his truck this morning...Update: December 30, 2003 Hori has announced a couple of fanciful accessories to coincide with the release of Onimusha 3 on February 26, 2004. First off, there's the PS2 Onimusha 3 Memory Card embossed with a gold logo and packaged inside a nifty wooden box. Pricing is set at Y3500 or US$38 from NCS. Next up, the PS2 Onimusha 3 Soul Controller which measures an impressive 38" in total length and is designed like an ebon ceremonial tachi sword of olden times with ornate handle and gold accents. (Yes, everyone copied this text from us) A black wooden stand is also included for mounting and display purposes. Pricing for the Soul Controller is Y14800 or US$195 from NCS. The Soul Controller runs on 3 AA batteries which last for 25-35 hours of use. Essentially an extremely fancy Dual Shock controller in the shape of a sword, the Soul Controller gets our kudos for most exotic looking joypad. Ever. A IR receiver is included in the Soul Controller package to work with the wireless functionality of the controller so that gamers may play with full freedom of movement. Hori's Tiny Bee controller now goes for about US$400 in the Japanese aftermarket and we're guessing the Soul Controller will follow in those vaunted footsteps. Additional photos of the Soul Controller may be viewed on the main NCS site. NCS pricing takes into account the shipping costs for bringing the Soul Controllers into the USA with Worldwide Express. The strength of the yen also dents our buying power.
