Update: October 17, 2007 Yes, we know the price is silly but unfortunately we had to order these from Horistore.com and then have them shipped to an agent in Japan. Horistore doesn't ship directly to the USA. The agent then tacked on their 30% handling fees and then shipped them by Express service to the USA. We're making about $8 on each stick when priced at US$175. Since the price is exorbitant, we'll re-confirm with customers who inquired about the stick to make sure they're still interested.... which is unlikely. We have stocked the Arcana Heart Stock today but also at the high price. Update: October 21, 2005 Limited for sale exclusively on horistore.com, NCS smuggles the Hori RAP2 into the States for some heavy duty joystick love. The top of the controller is covered by a metallic plate bolted down by six lugs. The body is ABS plastic and sturdy, just like the original Real Arcade Pro. The joystick is clicky but the clicks are more muted than other sticks which clack loud. The unit that we opened for our own use had little bits of adhesive on the top plate that we removed with pieces of tape. They appear to be residue from the manufacturing process. The buttons are springy and bounce back nicely once depressed and let go. We enjoyed using the stick for fighting games on the PS2 but it also works well with shooters. However, instead of placing the joystick on say, a lap, we prefer placing it on a little table in front of a monitor. Its weight and size allows for planting on table tops for shiftless gaming where it won't move easily no matter how feverishly the joystick is wagged. The upper left portion of the joystick is fitted with a little console which contains slide levers which control rapid fire for all of the buttons on the joystick. There are three gradations of fire for each button. The joystick weighs 5.73 lbs or 2600g and is packaged in a massive cardboard box. Due to dimensional weight of the packaging of 14 lbs, we recommend only shipping with UPS Ground within the United States. If you reside outside of the USA, we would recommend USPS Airmail Parcel Post. View larger photos on the main NCS site. Update: October 18, 2005 Due to a fuel surcharge on our Hori RAP v2.0 shipments that was assessed by UPS AFTER the pricey shipping costs, please note that we are raising the price for the joystick to US$129 for new orders. If you placed an order at the price of US$119, we will honor the price. Sadly, the fuel surcharge currently sits at 12.50% Read more about how the fuel surcharge is assessed on UPS' website. Update: October 17, 2005 The new Hori Real Arcade Pro Joystick v2.0 has shipped from Japan and delivery is scheduled for Wednesday. Due to the dimensional weight and size of each joystick, please note that we are setting the price at US$129. Unfortunately, we're being charged US$37.66 in Express shipping charges per joystick. Please note that Horistore also shipped Black and White versions of the original Hori Real Arcade Pro v1.0 which are also scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. The invoice lists them as "Special Edition" but we'll throw up photos and impressions once they arrive. Please note that the Real Arcade Pro Joystick 2.0 is a DIMENSIONAL WEIGHT item of 14 lbs and we recommend shipping only with UPS Ground within the United States. If you reside outside of the USA, we would recommend USPS Parcel Post which you may request in the notes section of your online order form. This document is ©NCSX 2005. All rights reserved.
