The PSP is subject to smudges and scratches during the normal course of use. To prevent scratches on the PSP screen, Hori ships a thin and flexible plastic film which is placed directly over the LCD. Before installing the filter, we recommend cleaning the PSP screen with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth to rid it of any dust and/or oily fingerprints. A dust cloth is included in the Hori filter package which would be suitable as well. Application Technique #1 for USA Screen Filter 1) Clean the PSP screen as mentioned above 2) Once dry, remove the first backing from the Hori screen filter by pulling on the red tab and hold the filter by its edges. 3) Place one corner of the filter to the corresponding PSP screen corner and slowly lay it all down. The blue tab on the filter should be matched to the lower left corner of the PSP screen. The Japanese Hori screen filter has a clear tab which should be lined up with the lower-right corner of the PSP. 4) The slow application helps to prevent air bubbles. As you lay the screen down, you may also rub the top of the filter with the included cloth as it hits the screen to push out any potential air bubbles. 5) If air bubbles do appear after application, use the cloth to rub them out or lift up the screen entirely to retry. 6) Once the application is satisfactory, pull on the blue (clear for the Japanese filter) tab to remove the second backing from the screen filter and you're done. Application Technique #2 1) Clean the PSP screen with the included dust cloth. 2) Remove the first backing from the Hori screen filter by pulling on the red tab and hold the filter by its edges. 3) Bend the filter horizontally and lay the bent center of the filter down on the screen. Slowly, unbend the filter and allow the edges to plop down on top of the PSP screen. The blue tab on the filter should be matched to the lower left corner of the PSP screen. The Japanese Hori screen filter has a clear tab which should be lined up with the lower-right corner of the PSP. 4) The center portion of the filter should be completely free of bubbles but there will be air pockets around the edges of the filter. 5) Use the dust cloth to rub from the center of the filter outwards and the air bubbles will be pushed out to the edges and released. 6) Once the application is satisfactory, pull on the blue tab to remove the second backing from the screen filter and you're done. Dust Problems If the side of the screen filter which goes over the PSP screen gets pockmarked by dust motes during application, use a small piece of scotch tape to pick the dust from the screen. The Hori Screen Filter is not a permanent fixture and may be easily removed and then reapplied if necessary. It sticks to the screen with static cling. No messy adhesives. Low cost shipping if ordered alone Please note that NCS will ship the screen protector to U.S. customers with regular first class mail in a padded envelope at a shipping cost of $2.00 if ordered alone. Please disregard what the checkout shipping cost is, since we cannot edit it to show $2.00. If you reside outside of the USA, we will still ship with the lowest cost possible in a normal padded letter.
