The limited edition of Sakura Taisen for PS2 ships in deluxe packaging and includes a standing Sakura placard with a gold timepiece with matching chain. A bonus DVD with background data on the PS2 port of Sakura Taisen is also bundled in the package. This first pressing of the PS2 Sakura Taisen remake includes a bonus DVD containing background data on the PS2 conversion. Please note: Although the SKU of the Sakura Taisen game that we stocked matches the JAPANESE version of the game, the bonus DVD is ASIAN (REGION-3) although the game itself is the JAPANESE territory version. The packaging of the game is also the JAPANESE version. READ: Please do not purchase this game if you will be using a chip modified OR a flip-top USA or EUR PS2 to play it. The dual-layer DVD which Sega uses for the Sakura Taisen game will not work on your console.

| RaptorZX3 (1): A great game in a great Limited Editon package! |

| Back a few years ago (1996-97) when i first heard about Sakura Wars on internet on Saturn (with screenshots), i always wanted to own those games. Now in 2002, i did not got only the 2 Sakura Wars for Saturn, but the Sakura Wars Complete Box (For Dreamcast) too!. All the games were greatly improved in graphics (smoother graphics for the first 2 games ported for Dreamcast). but unfortunately they didn't made a remake of the first ones. But now, actually we can get the remake of the first Sakura Wars!
Sega used the same 3D engine(ARMS Engine) used for Sakura Wars 3 and 4, putting more details since the PS2 is more powerful than the Dreamcast. We can now WALK freely around in the Theater(compared to the 4 previous games, you had to point the cursor somewhere to move Oogami) The missions were modified to fit the new battle system (like getting rid of the "healing pots" on the ground). The Characters are more expressive(i noticed that Iris gets a mysterious look on her face sometimes), and for those who can't even read Japanese, when you have to choose an answer, you can see Oogami's(the hero of the game) face(and background) changing expressions, so you can tell that this is a timid answer, a happy answer, an angry answer, etc...Since Sega is using a Dual-layered DVD for this game, there's a lot of cutscenes added (they took some older cutscenes from the original Sakura Wars originally made for Saturn). In the Limited Edition package, they are including a pocket watch(that Oogami own in the game, and you can see it as your cursor too while you're inside the Theatre) with a display stand with characters portraits on it. The first prints of both LE and normal editions have a Premium DVD (which i suppose it explains the changes from the original game, and characters BIO). If you're a Sakura Wars fan, it's a must for you! Or if you're curious about this game (maybe after you've seen the anime?), i recommend it greatly, even if you don't understand Japanese! |
