Back in the day, Koei developed published resource management/war games exclusively. The company's bread and butter was in games such as Sangokushi, Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition. The highly successful SSM franchise gets a little of that style of gameplay back in Empires. Along with the familiar 3-D hack 'n slash action of the series, players are now required to maintain bastions in conquered states as well as develop resources and blacksmiths for higher weapon levels. Diligent resource management and allocation also helps to increase income from territories which in turn contributes to the health of armies under one's control. The bundle includes both SSM3 Empires and SSM3 Moshouden in one heavy package.
