Generals and soldiers congregate on the battlefield once again in all-out war. Battlefields are bigger and six new generals join the roster for a total of 48 warriors. In the latest SSM, players decide their own destiny by performing well on the battlefield which in turn affects the storyline in each warrior's game. New to the game is a Base system where the bastions may be littered throughout a battlefield to replenish troop strength and/or used to defend against insurgents. A "career mode" of sorts is also available where players life the trials and tribulations of a hero. The SSM4 Treasure Box Special contains:
