«©NCSX» With spring right around the corner and summer hot on its heels, Miss Narusegawa and Mizthang Urashima doff their winter coats and don the dainties. Naru slips into her pink two-piece while Kanako squeezes into a purple number. Inset photos show Naru in a pair of daisy-dukes and Kanako in a tee, which are included in their respective shipping containers. Ogling at the photo, their legs seem longer, leaner than they were in the anime... or in the recent pair of bedsheets. Each figure measures 25 cm or 9.8" from heel to spiked hair. The quality of the two Hinata-sou residents is very good with excellent paint jobs and details. Each figure includes a transparent base along with a little mounting arm to keep Naru and Kanako upright and in good form. This document is ©NCSX 2003. All rights reserved. | What can I say, I've been totally overwhelmed by the figure/doll that I've purchased from NCSX. I placed the order on Sunday evening here in the UK so I knew it wouldn't be until the afternoon on Monday for me before the order would be processed. I realised I had made a mistake and accidentally ordered the Kanako doll instead so I contacted customer support and they promptly replied and sorted the mix-up for me. Four days later, I receive a rather large package in the mail which could only be one thing, Naru!!!
The figure itself is huge - guesstimating, it must be about 30cm tall. I collect other vinyl type statues and I have a Nemesis one from Resident Evil, Naru almost rivals him in size which I would have to say is the largest addition to my collection.
The paintjob is superb, even her fingernails have been painted. I personally would have preferred a design closer to her series counterpart rather than her Love Hina Again self. There's something about those jagged lines on her cheeks in the OAVs which I just don't like. Ah well, certainly better than nothing.
The figure comes with a display base, a display arm (which I haven't had to use, Naru slots into the base nicely) and a pair of removeable denim shorts.
Sega have done a fantastic job with the high grade figures and should definitely consider producing moulds for the rest of the gang (I'd love a Mutsumi!). For now though, I've resorted to ordering the Kanako doll - Naru's getting a bit lonely on my bookshelf... |
