Update: November 2, 2006 «©NCSX» Japanese cook Nahomi Edamoto has few contemporaries in America with whom NCS can compare her too. She's not as bubbly and wacky as Rachael Ray nor is she a mogul like Martha Stewart. We'd best describe her as a matronly dame who makes the rounds at Japanese television programs, writes cooking articles, and occasionally sits in on panels of general interest. In Nahomi's latest venture, the cook lends her name to a collection of Japanese recipes where NDS users may learn the proper preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques for over 50 dishes. To practice the creation of the meals, players may engage in mini-games which teach cutting, frying, and other kitchen procedures. View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX website. NCS Game Notes » Nahomi Edamoto is a cooking expert in Japan who writes cooking articles for periodicals and appears in various television cooking programs where she makes simples dishes which can be prepared by children, college students, and unskilled housewives who would destroy a can of Chef Boyardee. In the NDS software which bears her name, Ms Edamoto shows how to prepare simple dishes with ingredients such as meats and vegetables in a frying pan or a pot. » Learn how to prepare, cook, and serve over 50 dishes which range the spectrum of Japanese cuisine with some American flavor thrown in for diversity. For example, one dish consists of an American style omelet but instead of ham and cheese folded inside, a rice concoction makes it in there. The steps in preparing each dish are shown in easy to follow animation style where a helpful fraulein gives pointers and shows the ways of kneading, chopping, frying, and many other cooking steps. » To gain international flavor for her recipes, Nahomi's work has taken her to Europe, American, Asia Major, and Nepal where she learned about different tastes and the mixing of flavors to create simple yet delicious dishes that can be prepared by even the worst of food preparers. » Players may use the touch pen to cut and prepare foods when following the steps of a recipe. Once the ingredients are ready for cooking, throw them into a pot or frying pan and apply the necessary amount of heat. Once the food is ready to eat, players also learn how to choose sides or salads to complement the meal. Once at the table, proper arrangement of silverware may be learned as well. » In addition to the cooking tutorials, players may also enjoy a Story Mode and various mini-games.
