Description
Update: July 27, 2007
«©NCSX» D3 Publisher borrows a page from the Assaults Suits Valken games and drops players into a pudgy mech that's armed with guns and a powerful punch. In addition to its offensive capabilities, the mech can also jump and activate its boosters to soar over short distances. The game is played in typical platform-action style where the mech is moved from left to right across each level. When enemies appear, fire away with your unlimited artillery or get up close and punch away. There's a block move that's activated by pressing the R-Trigger but it only halves the amount of damage from an enemy attack. You'll still lose health when the mech's guard is up so it's wise to run and gun instead of standing pat.

This game is also known as Simple DS Series Vol 18: The Soukou Kihei Gun Ground.

NCS Game Notes
» Rideon, Inc developed the game for D3 Publisher.

» The options on the title screen are:

NEW GAME / Take control of a mech and blast through levels
LOAD GAME / Resume a game from save data
MULTI PLAY / Link up with another 1-3 players for a wireless challenge
OPTION / Adjust BGM and SE sound levels, adjust button configuration

» At the outset of each mission, a helicopter brings the mech onto the battlefield. At the end of each mission, the same helicopter provides the extraction carriage of the mech as well.

» The default controls are as follows:

Y-Button / Shoot
A-Button / Punch
B-Button / Jump
R-Trigger / Guard

» To perform a rushing slide move, push the D-pad twice in the direction you wish to roll.

» After pressing the "B-Button" to jump, you can press it again and hold it for a second or two to make the mech fly across the air.

» When enemy mechs are shot and destroyed, they sort of keel backwards in a human-like way when they die.

» The enemy forces gain air support starting with the third level where bombers fly overhead and drop bombs.

» The game features over 120 different weapons that may be added to the mech's arsenal. The Gun Ground mech starts off with a simple artillery shot but it can bolt additional weapons on to its frame for more offensive power. In addition to more powerful weapons, the mech itself can be hardened with better parts for greater performance on the battlefield.

» Up to four players can link up in the wireless mode for mech versus action.
