Update: June 2, 2008 at 5:38PM EST A final shipment of Freshly Picked has arrived from the UK. Thanks to the recent strength of the US dollar, NCS reduces the price back to the original level of US$49.90. Update: December 03, 2007 1:34PM EST We have restocked a third shipment of Freshly Picked from the United Kingdom. Please note that pricing is now set at US$59.90 due to increased costs when importing products from the United Kingdom to the United States. NCS apologizes for the Tingle inflation but the dollar's value isn't what it used to be. Update: September 26, 2007 9:14AM EST We have restocked another batch of Tingle this morning. Please note that due to the recent drop of the dollar against currencies such as the British pound, our import costs were higher for the new supply. As such, we are raising the price for the game to US$52.90. Blame Bernanke. Update: September 18, 2007 12:22PM EST Tingle's back and all backorders and new orders are shipping today. You can't keep a good man (who wears a green elvish outfit and pointy brown shoes) down. Update: September 14, 2007 10:30AM EST We are sold out of Freshly Picked: Tingles Rosey Rupeeland and we will restock on or around September 18. Backorders that are placed now will ship once we restock the game. Thanks for reading me. Update: September 12, 2007 at 1:07PM EST We didn't expect the game to arrive today and UPS had it scheduled for tomorrow but it's in and all preorders are shipping this afternoon. New orders are also welcome to ship today. NCS Game Synopsis «©NCSX» The impish Tingle is a rupee collecting jester who travels around the land collecting coin. Light-footed and blessed with a joyful disposition, Tingle evokes feelings of revulsion love and appreciation from all who witness his greedy antics. In the NDS game, Tingle roams around the world collecting rupees in a bid to elevate a tower to the heavens where lovely ladies are generous with kisses and libations flow like Deer Park Spring Water. Rupees may be collected directly or obtained by trading in valuable items. Tingle may also go on missions to earn generous amounts of the shiny gem-like rupees. By throwing rupees into a magic pool of water at the center of the cylindrical tower, the spire rises ever higher into the sky to reach the paradise that Tingle so desires. The game features a multi-language option which includes English. View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX website.
NCS Game Notes » As the game begins, Tingle is lying at the center of his humble abode, facing away from the viewer. He scratches his butt with his left hand while his right hand cradles his melon of a head. After a short while, he gets up and walks around. To the north, a ladder goes up but it's not accessible yet. To the south, Tingle may exit his home and walk around outside. Two paths to the right of his home that lead out of the area are not accessible yet but to the left of his house is a sign which indicates a pool is near. Walk to the left past some leaves and enter a new area with a sparkling pool of water in the center of the screen. » Tap on the pool and a sequence plays where the top NDS screen shows an old man named Rupee-ji standing atop the clouds. Rupee-ji sports a noggin that's shaped like a fleshy rupee and he charges Tingle with the collection of rupees which he will throw into the pool of water. By doing so, a tower will erupt from the ground and rise to the heavens to fulfill all of Tingle's fantasies and dreams. Once in paradise, Tingle can enjoy top notch food, relax on a beach chair with drinks, and draw loving attention from adoring ladies. Upon his acceptance, Rupee-ji blasts two bolts of energy down on Tingle and the 35-year old man is transformed into a green spandex wearing pixie. To start him off on his quest with a warm welcome, Rupee-ji grants 100 rupees to Tingle's reserve and bids him adieu. » To start the offerings of rupees, tap on the pool again and then tap 10 on the keypad followed by ok. Tingle throws the 10 rupees into the pool and turns around to giggle in his squeaky impish way. When he exits to the right, he is greeted by a big breasted fairy with a tat on her right bicep named Pingle. She's his familiar with the job of guiding Tingle through the adventure and speaks to Tingle through the terminal in his house. Near the entrance of his house, Tingle can find a green ingredient to use in his cooking pot. » Inside Tingle's home, the pixie can check out a stove, a terminal, a cylindrical contraption, and a wall display unit. » CONTROLS The d-pad or the face buttons may be used for movement. On the face buttons, the controls are as follows: X..........UP A..........RIGHT Y..........LEFT B..........DOWN The stylus is used to tap on objects on the screen to pick them up or to activate actions. » There's a rudimentary battle system in the game where the green-clad hero runs into a creature and then a scrambling attack occurs. To help Tingle fight, tap on the beast with the stylus to damage it. For non-Japanese readers In the early part of the game when the old lady hands Tingle an easel and asks him to scribble, you're supposed to doodle a few lines on the touchscreen map exactly where the shrine is located on the upper screen. Once done, the shrine is revealed on the overhead map.
From the Publisher Take a trip into the weird and wonderful world of Tingle as he becomes the hero of his very own adventure! Fans of the Legend of Zelda series will be familiar with the quirky character best known for making maps and hoarding every last Rupee he can get his hands on. And now you can take control of Tingle as he sets off on a wacky quest to collect as much cash as possible and reach a paradise beyond the clouds. The game reveals that Tingle's obsession with Rupees began after he was called to an abandoned pool near his home by the mysterious Uncle Rupee. Tingle is informed that throwing enough Rupees into the pool will cause a tower to rise from the ground which stretches up to Rupeeland - an otherwise unreachable paradise. And so the adventure begins. Directing Tingle with the Control Pad or YXAB Buttons, and using the Touch Screen to select items, interact with people you meet and mark key points on the game map, you must help Tingle collect as many Rupees as possible. Money doesn't come easily though, and you'll have to keep Tingle in the black by battling enemies, exploring dungeons and completing a variety of tasks. You can even raise Rupees by selling the maps you have charted. But be careful - trying to sell your maps at too high a price might make prospective buyers angry and lose you a sale! Helping you out on your travels are the friendly fairy Pinkle and Tingle's pet dog Barkle. You'll also have to hire bodyguards to protect you from bad guys who want to get their hands on your precious Rupees. Welcome to Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, where money definitely makes the world go round!
From the Publisher Who says money can’t buy happiness? For one pointy-eared fellow called Tingle, it is all about currency flow as he attempts to haggle, barter and buy his way to paradise. Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland is a humorous and quirky adventure with innovative touch-screen controls that make it fun to pick up and play. One day while resting in his house a middle-aged man hears a voice, which leads him to a nearby pool of water. Here Uncle Rupee reveals himself and explains that the pond is a gateway to a paradise called Rupeeland that can only be activated by throwing money into the pool. Uncle Rupee then transforms the player into the mischievous Tingle. Fans of the Legend of Zelda franchise will remember Tingle as a peculiar character from this series who helps Link on his quest but only in return for cold hard cash. Now Zelda fans can finally solve the riddle behind this character and experience Tingle’s story! Tingle is by no means your typical video game ‘hero’. For a start he does nothing for free, instead only completing tasks and helping people for a fee. As he progresses through the game Tingle must complete sub-quests, explore dungeons and sell maps he draws for Rupees, which he can then feed to the pool in his garden to make a tower grow and give him access to new areas. Rupees collected are shown at the top of the screen and decrease when Tingle is hurt or has to buy something. Utilising the Nintendo DS touch-screen and stylus, Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland is fun and intuitive to play, whatever your gaming experience. This alternative hero is moved around the screen using either the d-pad or YXAB buttons so both right and left-handed stylus control can be used, while everything else in-game is controlled via the touch screen. Players can interact with characters and items that they encounter by simply tapping them with their stylus. The game’s payment screen is equally intuitive to use with an on-screen numeric keyboard that players must simply tap. As many a stock-trader will confirm, you must speculate to accumulate and in this game it is no different. On his weird and wonderful journeys Tingle will encounter other characters with items or information he requires, but this all comes at a price. Players must use their best skills to haggle to get the ultimate deal they can on the items they need. Be careful though, if you are too greedy you may end up getting less than you bargained for and could end up losing out in the long run. Tingle may be dressed like a fairy but unfortunately he has nearly no powers or abilities except a love of collecting money, meaning that hired muscle is needed to help him survive. Parting with his precious funds allows Tingle to hire bodyguards to keep him out of danger as well as aid him with different abilities such as lock-picking and access to impassable areas. Aside from adventuring, Tingle can utilise his map-making skills to earn himself a supplemental income. When exploring an area players will be able to view the area on their map screen. When they come across points of interest not marked on the chart, they can circle the exact spot using the Nintendo DS stylus and then sell their updated maps in town for a hefty sum.
