Update: April 27, 2007 «©NCSX» The popular Momotetsu series of board games have captured the imagination of Japanese fans for nearly 20 years. Way back in December of 1988, Hudson released the first Momotaro Densetsu on the 8-bit Famicom and the rest is, as they say, history. As is the case in previous Momotetsu games, the goal is the accumulation of capital and property as a player treks through Japan and Tokyo by way of the railroad network. Capital begets capital as the player uses resources judiciously to build an empire from a fledgling pool of yen to a nation-spanning conglomerate. Adversity comes in the form of rivals who are also building their own empires and monsters such as King Bombee, the God of Poverty, and others. The NDS game also features a quiz element and a multiplayer option. Jan Code: 4988607006365 View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX website.
NCS Game Notes » Momotaro Densetsu DS features two wireless multi-player options - one where gamers download code from a player with the game card and everyone plays a short-term (a couple of years only) but full-fledged game of rallying across Japan and scooping up properties. The other multiplayer option is one where everyone with a game card can link up and play a long-term game of Momotaro Dentetsu which spans 30 years of game time. » Owners of the Momotetsu DS card may also transmit a trial edition of the game to another player in the local vicinity. » The geography of Tokyo and Japan in general is accurately reproduced with towns, cities, and landmarks represented.
