Update: October 20, 2006 «©NCSX» Two galactic cowpokes who carry musical instruments do away with the cow herding and go hunting for outlaws. The player selects a male or a female protagonist and travels on a space cruiser to different planets where the bounty awaits. Before each puzzle challenge, a "Wanted" poster appears with an image of the target in question. Gunpey is a game of linkages where players manipulate "pipes" so they're attached to each other across the play field. Once a line is connected, the pipes disappear from the screen as more pipes appear from the bottom of the screen which require connecting. The tiles that hold the pipes slowly move up the screen and the goal is to keep connecting the pipes.Jan Code: 4582224491353 View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX website.
NCS Game Notes » In the title screen of the game, a chorus of girls bellow out, "Gun-Pay Re-ver-SU" before a male and a female cowboy holding musical instruments stand in a static pose. Game play consists of moving pipettes on a 5 x 10 board which is broken up into grids. Slowly, little tubes/pipettes move up on the screen. Use the stylus to move the pipes so that complete circuits are formed from left to right - when a circuit is made, the entire horizontal length of piping is cleared. Your aim is to clear the pipes before anything reaches the top of the screen. » When playing the STORY mode of the game, you're creating connections on the touch screen while the opponent creates them on the upper screen. Watch him if you wish to check out his combo-creating technique. The back story of the game is as a galactic bounty hunter who travels across the galaxy in search of bounty and WANTED aliens. To capture them, play games of Gunpey Reverse successfully to corral and beat them. » Rules: Pipe segments cannot be moved into contiguous rows but they may be moved up and down within their own columns. The objective is simple but as the pace speeds up, players may be hard pressed to keep on top of the action. » It's possible to create combinations where multiple pipes terminate into one or more ending pipes. Entire branches of pipes may then be connected and cleared at the same time. » The first two opponents in the NORMAL version of the game are give-aways but the third opponent works up a storm to avoid being captured. » When a match is made, the circuit flashes on screen for 2 seconds. At that time, you can drag additional segments into the circuit. As long as the new pipe segments make new circuits that don't overlay the original circuit, they'll continue to be part of the circuit and disappear and clear out from the screen. » There's a Pico Pico Machine utility in the Gunpey software which allows players to create music from a simple and intuitive creation interface. The editor features a sequencer where the player may insert tones and sound effects against the backdrop of a piece. The speed of the tune may also be adjusted. Four save slots are available to store your music and use in the game. » There's a mini-game in the same section as the music sequencer where an alien creature is guided upwards to the top of the screen by tapping the screen to plant little 1-square platforms and inclines so that it can rise higher to the ceiling of the screen.
