As with any popular franchise, the Negima characters have made their way into numerous merchandising opportunities including figures, posters, mugs, and high profile video games. The latest of the latter reaches market this week with an interactive adventure + battle sim where players take on the role of Negi Springfield who looks after an entire class of 31 female students. To interact with students, the touch screen is tapped to talk and engage in lengthy bouts of interplay. After interaction, battles may be triggered where enemies are encountered and fought in tactical grid-based arenas.Bonus Schwag All preorders will include a bonus Drama CD. NCS Game Notes » The NDS Negima game mashes together interactive sequences with stylus-powered tactical battles where Negima and allies are moved and then pressed to attack foes. » Negi Springfield's relationships with his students are important. The friendlier they are, the more cohesive their fighting efficiency on the battlefield. » Press START and the following options appear: Game Start / Begin a new adventure and take on the role of Negima Springfield Continue / Resume a game already in progress from card save data Option / Toggle BGM [On/Off], SE [On/Off], Voice [On/Off], 4 Button Mode [On/Off] Omake / Gallery Mode and Voice Mode [Must be unlocked] » At the outset of the game, Negima is standing with Kotaro Inugami and having a conversation when a procession of girls from the manga/animation series appear and join the conversation. This sequence lasts for about 20 minutes and introduces players to the gals and storyline. There's no actual interaction during the introduction and you're basically reading and pressing the A button or tapping the touch screen to advance the dialogue text. After the sequence is over, you're prompted to select a save slot from three possible selections. » Afterwards, an isometric battlefield appears with Keitaro and Asukana next to each other on the center of the screen while Fei Ku stands to the upper right. It's a practice battle and Fei's provide the opposing muscle to match up against. Actions are selected from a text based menu which pops up on the upper left corner of the screen. The options are as follows: MOVE ATTACK SKILL END TURN EXTRA [LOAD GAME, EXIT TO TITLE SCREEN, RESTART LEVEL] » Before the first battle begins, highlighting any of the options and pressing the "A-Button" will show a short tutorial which explains each option. » To attack an enemy, sidle next to him on a contiguous square and select the ATTACK option. A new screen loads up which shows the character running from a side view to meet the opponent. The Y, X, B, A, and R buttons are used in the battle to attack and defend. For example, A strikes out Negima's cane to do a double-hit smack down, B throws out a weak attack, X performs a weak kick attack, and Y is for a strong kick » Cosplay is a major part of the game with new costumes unlocked for the girls to wear and provide fan service. Some examples of costumes include Valkyrie armor, a maid's outfit, bunny girl suit with ears, a nurse's uniform with a huge hypodermic needle, and others.
