Update: September 7, 2006 «©NCSX» A decade ago, Namco released Kosodate Quiz My Angel on Seta 2nd Generation coin-op hardware. In the game, players raised a child from baby to adult by answering questions in quiz format. The company followed up with Kosodate Quiz My Angel 2 in 1997. Ten years after the original game, Namco returns to the "My Angel" series with an NDS rendition which takes after the recent spate of brain training games. The baby-to-adult theme is intact but the questions have been replaced by brain teasers which test memory, judgment, recognition, and concentration. At the outset, the baby is dressed in a blue outfit with bonnet. The first brain game tests memorization by presenting three objects on a 3 x 3 grid... Tap on the one or two items that has changed. With each correct action, the baby in blue bonnet clothing waddles on her belly around the crib on the top NDS screen. The baby also makes baby sounds that may be described as a chuckle or a gurgle. 2) In the next exercise that opens up, a series of numbers are shown on a 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 grid. One or two numbers disappear from the grid. Write the number(s) that disappeared in the space(s) provided to test your memory retention. 3) In the third challenge, fruit and other objects are flashed on the panels of a grid. Next, objects appear again. Tap on the one that was not shown in the previous sequence to receive an approval from the software. 4) In the next exercise, two aqua-colored boxes are shown on a black background. Count them and then write the number that you counted in the first space provided. If the number of boxes requires 2 digits, use both writing squares to write your answer. We found that the software has problems recognizing the written number "6" and the number "9" and misinterpreted these numbers when we wrote the correct answer but still razzed us. Each exercise is allowed 60 seconds and players finish as many as possible in quick rapid fire succession. As exercises are completed, new ones are unlocked and made available for play.
