Update: March 22, 2006 «©NCSX» Sudoku is a game of numbers where the digits 1 through 9 are placed in a 9x9 play board. Sounds simple enough but the rules dictate that each number can only appear once in any one row or column. Furthermore, the 9x9 board is broken up into nine distinct 3x3 areas that can only hold the numbers 1 through 9 in its squares and no number may be repeated in each 3x3 area. Play boards that appear in the game will already have some numbers filled in which provide the clues and necessary arrangements that follow. In the NDS version of Sudoku, a little munchkin creature serves as the emcee of sorts for the game and it wavers, sleeps, hops, and acts the clown during the game play.Unlike the Brain Age version of Sudoku, the Hudson version doesn't require that number entry be written. Instead, a keypad to the right of the Sudoku playboard may be tapped to enter numbers on highlighted squares of the board. Also unlike Brain Age, the software won't automatically warn you if you've entered an errant numeral. You'll soon find the error yourself as you continue to forge ahead and notice that there's two 9s in a row or three 5s in a square. To lessen the pain of mistakes, there's a convenient backtrack button which allows you to erase your moves in sequential backwards order. View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX website.
