Update: November 3, 2009 «©NCSX» Back in the 80s, Tabletalk RPGs came into their own in Japan thanks to inspiration from Gary Gygax's Dungeon and Dragons role-playing phenomenon. Tabletalk RPGs are different from videogame RPGs in that the scenarios, characters, and game world are overseen by a human "Dungeon Master" or "Game Master" who recites from a rulebook. One of the most popular TRPGs is Sword World from Group SNE which gets adapted onto the NDS this week. Participants throw a pair of six-sided die to determine attributes and trigger attacks, magic, and other events. The game takes place in the world of Terasstia where players choose to be a male or female protagonist. After setting up the character through a series of die throws, the story begins in stutter-step fashion where text scrolls on the touch screen whilst pictures appear on the top NDS screen.
