Description
Update: August 8, 2008
«©NCSX» The cast members of Code Geass generally find themselves in somber situations fitting of the oppressive scenario presented in the manga and anime. In Bandai's latest Geass game, Lelouch Lamperouge, Karen Stadtfeld, C.C., and the rest of the gang relax and perhaps laugh with collection of simple mini-games.

Soon after starting the Story Mode, Lelouch appears and proceeds to play a game of Othello against you. The computer's technique isn't sophisticated and is fairly easy to beat. Afterwards, the protagonist appears on a board game where certain spaces that he lands upon will trigger mini-games such as swimming, pizza shooting, quizzing, and more. There's also a whack-a-mole game, a side scrolling shooter that's not bad, and a platform action game to boot.

NCS Game Notes
» We counted a total of 18 mini-games during our testing this morning. Roughly 40 characters from Code Geass appear and most of them speak. According to the promotional material from Bandai, there are over 1200 spoken words that were recorded exclusively for the NDS game.

» The first mini-game that you'll play after starting the Story Mode (Board game) is a session of Othello against Lelouch. The computer isn't sophisticated and can be baited to place a disc in a spot that'll be fortuitous for you. In our game against Lelouch, we captured all four corners and beat him in 1 min and 15 seconds with 50 black discs to his 14 white discs.

» After completing at least one game, all of the main menu options will be unlocked. There's a mahjong option which adheres to standard MJ rules but instead of traditional designs on the tiles, the characters of Code Geass appear on the various tiles.

» Due to time constraints this morning, we'll update additional game notes later today.
