«©NCSX» The simple life beckons once again in Marvelous' latest release in the Bokujou Monogatari aka Harvest Moon franchise. One of the themes of the new game is friendship where animals such as raccoons, ducks, and field mice visit your little farm. Feed them with bits of food and they'll become chummy and perhaps help a farmer out. Keep in mind that in a real world farm, the field mice and 'coons would be termed "vermin." Farm owners can raise crops on land as usual but the ocean also offers its bounty where fish and sea creatures may be collected and caught for food. Pets such as dogs, horses, and cats may be kept around the homestead for mini-game fun such as Frisbee retrieval and a sleigh ride. » At the outset of the adventure, the protagonist rides into town on a boat. Upon starting the game, you'll be able to select a male or female character as your onscreen persona. » Once you're settled in, four townsfolk arrive to welcome you into their little burg. One of them looks like an ogre. As with all Harvest Moon games, the first task is to clean the field of litter and debris to prepare it for crops. » Next, speak to the old guy that's standing in front of the field and he'll hand you a hoe. Walk into the field and till the ground as directed by the onscreen cues. Once done, talk to the old guy again and he'll hand over two bags of seeds. Sow the seeds and talk to the guy again and he'll give you a watering can to moisten the soil. That concludes the first day and you'll automatically go home where you can check the news or settle in for the night. » On the second day, water your crops and then head south to visit the town. You'll be able to visit a number of establishments including the Diner where a glass of water is free but the appetizers and entrees cost 130G and up. You start with only 500G so it's not wise to splurge until your finances are up to speed. » The third day starts with a morning visit from the "ogre" and he'll gift the protagonist with an axe, a hammer, and a sickle.
