Description
Update: May 1, 2008
«©NCSX» Bandai avoids doing another run 'n gun Gundam game and plunges the fabled franchise into a turn-based strategy sim which follows the events that began in the Gundam 0079 timeline. Emblem of Gundam is a mix of interactive story-driven sequences and tactical theaters of conflict.

Players marshal mechs on grid-laced battlefields where single unit encounters are possible along with skirmishes between entire squadrons of up to 100 mechs. The action takes place on the touch screen while the top screen shows team stats and other indicators. When a battle begins, the "Power Balance" of the two sides is shown which determines which contingent is stronger.

Before a battle begins, players may set up the team and choose the characters that'll participate in the conflict. Mech pilots possess special abilities and gifts which will help them during the encounter - for example, Ray Amuro has "Gundam Control" skills which allow him to maneuver Gundam mechs with innate skill and attack with unerring accuracy. On the side of the Zeon, Char Aznable has "Versatile Mobile Suit Control" abilities which also allow him to maneuver mechs os all stripes with expert handling.

The five works from which Emblem of Gundam draws its storyline are:

» Mobile Suit Gundam
» Gundam 08th MS Team
» Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
» Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory
» Mobile Suit Gundam Z

Mechs and pilots featured in the game include:
» Gundam RX-78-2 / Ray Amuro
» MS-06S Zaku II / Char Aznable
» Gundam RX-79 Ez8 / Shiro Amada
» RX-78 GP-03 Gundam "Dendrobium Orchis"
» RX-75-4 Guntank
» Gundam NT-1 Alex
» RX-78 Gundam MK II
... and many more

Exactly 50% of our preorders will ship with a bonus 64-page Emblem of Gundam Offical Guidance Book which contains information on the missions in the game, the characters and pilots, the mechs, and the timeline of the Gundam mythology.

NCS Game Notes
» Attacks are shown in thrilling animated cinema sequences which last for a second or two. They're short but good. They're also repetitive.

» Every attack consists of an offensive maneuver by the aggressor and a retaliatory attack by the target.

» Urgent "military" style music plays during the encounters. The music is meant to instill a sense of dread, drama, and perhaps confidence amongst Gundam gamers.

» Each battle can last between 30 to 60 minutes each. That's one battle. Despite the lengthy time investment required for the game, it is enjoyable and will appeal to fans of tactical battle games where units are marshaled on maps and instructed to fire their weapons.
