Update: July 12, 2007 «©NCSX» Nearly five years after the events of Rockman ZX, Irregulars are still facing off against humanoids and Hunters are still trying to fend off their attacks. During a fire fight between two factions, one of the Hunters is blown backwards into a cryogenic stasis chamber which holds a humanoid named Grey. Once damaged, the chamber goes into activate mode and slowly empties itself of liquid. After the soldiers have gone, the chamber opens up and Grey slumps onto the floor. A floating Irregular appears and sends a beam of energy at him but it doesn't do much. Grey then counterattacks before running off. Control is handed over to the player after this point and a new action-adventure set in the Rockman ZX universe begins.Jan Code: 4976219022668 View the back cover and screenshots for this item on the main NCSX website.
NCS Game Notes » After Grey drops from his cryogenic canister, he's immediately outfitted with a buster gun. The "B" button jumps and the "Y" button shoots. » Make your way towards the right and fire at enemy droids until you exit the installation. While crossing a bridge that's against a waterfall, a big robot appears in an apparent offensive gesture. To destroy it, hop onto its right hand and then blast away at its eyes until it explodes and drops Grey downwards as he screams for dear life. » In the next scene, Grey wakes up in a bed by himself. A Hunter enters the room and you're soon able to explore the installation. Eventually, Grey will accompany a shipment of Live Metals aboard a platform train with a Hunter on the flatbed. The Hunter explains the concept of Live Metals to Grey but during the trip, airborne Irregular ships bomb the train from overhead and two Irregulars manifest themselves in front of Grey. » The Irregular with the sickle weapon sends a wave slash which destroys the container holding the Live Metal. Since Grey was standing in front of the Live Metal when the blast wave was sent, he's wounded by the attack and is cringing. Just when it looks like the Irregulars are about to attack again, the Live Metal is activated and encases Grey, turning him into a Rockman warrior with skills. The two Irregulars vamoose when faced with a powerful new opponent and the Live Metal A holds a conversation with Grey. » Rockman's primary weapon is a buster gun but he can also fire off lancing lasers which home in on targets and destroy them. To activate them, press and hold the "R-Trigger" and a little targeting arc appears in front of Rockman. Next, move towards enemies and mark them with the arc. When you let go of the "R-Trigger," a piercing laser flies out and destroys everything that was marked by the arc. » Afterwards, make your way to the front of the train, destroying enemy soldiers and mechanical threats along the way. Eventually, an animal in a suit named Deerburn the Gazelroid appears who launches rockets and performs dashing attacks. To defeat him easily, press and hold the "A" button to manifest a geometric square which expands from Grey's Live Metal A suit. Let go of the button and the Live Metal A unleashes a double-barreled barrage of gunfire that decimates Deerburn's HP. » The beauty of Live Metal A is its ability to adapt into other forms. Once defeated, the first Falseroid identity for Deerburn may be assumed by tapping the associated icon on the touch screen. The new suit allows Grey to blast a triple-flame-shot and leap off against walls like a gazelle. If you press and hold the "Y" button and then release a few seconds later, the Deerburn suit unleashes two spinning blades which fly in a triangular formation before re-entering the suit. To make the Deerburn Falseroid form perform an upwards rocket move, press and hold the R-trigger and once energized, press up on the D-pad to rocket upwards and destroy anything in your way. » To exit from the train car, perform the upwards striking move to destroy the overhang on the left side of the boxcar. Next, destroy the platform located in the center of the car. Press and hold the R-Trigger and then jump upwards with the "B" button. Let go of the R-Trigger and the Deerburn suit will rocket downwards like an avenging angel. » The R.O.C.K. System is what allows the Live Metals to take other forms and stands for "Rebirth of Crystallized Knowledge System." A total of eight Falseroid identities may be adopted by Grey's Live Metal A suit. » Animated cut-scenes are shown throughout the game to depict important events such as Grey's release from the cryogenic chamber and his transformation to Rockman. » A good amount of voice acting is crammed into the Nintendo DS game card. » Gamers may also choose to play Rockman ZXA in the form of a female Legions operative named Ashe.
