«©NCSX» We always knew that the undersea world teemed with life of all sizes and shapes. We just needed Nintendo to teach us that there's also a musical wonderland waiting to be unleashed beneath the waves.

Ten harmonious plankton with unique qualities swim, sparkle, and sound off in ElectroPlankton. To create music, tap a plankton with the stylus and listen to a short burst of sound. Tap another plankton and it'll also jingle in with its little voice. Create entire "songs" by tapping plankton who emit bursts of intermittent noise that they'll play in sequence...one after the other. ElectroPlankton also makes use of the Nintendo DS' built-in microphone to record your words, wails, raps, and anything else that you may summon from the bowels of your being. Once recorded, your sounds may be incorporated into the symphony of sounds from the plankton.

The ten plankton in the game are:

Beatnes - Polygonal shaped creatures which have a dangling appendage beneath them which sways to and fro. Tap on different spots along the length of the appendage for different sounds.

Hanenbow - Jumpy pink fish-like beasties which swim around by the force of their yellow wagging tails.

Lumiloop - Colored donut-shaped ruffians that spin wildly in place.

Luminaria - Star-shaped charmers that pulse around the screen

Marine Snow - Snowflake creatures that spin around and conglomerate against each other

Nanocarp - An inverse teardrop-shaped fish type with flappy fins

Rec-Rec - Fish-like with propeller-powered tail and a wavy tuft of something atop its head

Sun Animalcule - Shiny sun creatures that sparkle around the screen

Tracy - Jellyfish type that swim around with grandiose flourish

Volvoice - Teardrop shaped big'un which sends an electric pulse through an appendage on the top of its head

Jennifer G. (2): Not bad!
I wasn't sure about picking this one up but I'm glad that I did. It's not a game but more of a little musical toy that you can use to make tunes and crazy compositions with. I love that the microphone feature of the Nintendo DS is used where you can sample everyday sounds like a car honking, a dog barking, or even a short snippet of a conversation and integrate it with an ElectroPlankton song. Pretty cool stuff and innovative idea from Nintendo.
Tee (2): Nothing more but a tech demo
No good. There's just not enough variety/options to keep you entertained long enough. It's basically a tech demo showing off some of the features of the DS without any real purposes behind them other than to show off it's capabilities.
