Update: November 19, 2005 ŠNCS: Nintendo releases a shimmering black Gameboy Micro with red fringe and Pikachu silhouette. To add to the desirability, the Pokemon Micro is limited to distribution only at Pokemon Center shops in Japan.Update: September 19, 2005 Measuring a miniscule 10 x 5 x 1.7cm in dimension or 4 x 2 x 0.7" for us Yanks, the Gameboy Micro matches the size of one of our new Casio Exilim cameras nearly perfectly. The backlit screen on the Micro is slightly smaller than a standard GBA but it's remarkably crisp, bright, and sharp. The buttons on the Gameboy Micro are also the softer tactile type as seen on the original GBA instead of the buttons used on the GBA SP. The headphone port is also built-in so players won't have to shell out another $10 for an adapter. Please note that the Gameboy Micro is only capable of playing GBA games. Insert a Gameboy Color or original Gameboy cartridge into the slot and be met with... nothing. The power and link ports have also been consolidated into one port. Japan policy As with all import handheld units, please note that we are not able to return them to Nintendo of Japan because of dead pixels and screen aberrations such as differential brightness. For example, the brightness of the Gameboy Micro screen may appear lighter than other parts of the screen. Due to their policy, please be advised that we will not accept import Gameboy Micro units for return because of dead pixels and screen aberrations such as differential brightness. Sorry.
