Update: June 11, 2009 «©NCSX» The Sanderson family keeps an unkempt house. There's mom, dad, daughter Jenny, and a rambunctious dog. To help the Sandersons with the upkeep of their home, a special helper is gifted to the clan. Measuring a mere 10cm tall, Chibi Robo represents the future of household robotics. It cooks, it cleans, and it even feeds the pet fish during the course of an average day. To help perform its chores, the mighty mite uses a brush to clean dirty surfaces and the top of its head flips open to serve as a trash can where large items seemingly pass into infinite space. Chibi also wields a shovel for gardening and a laser blaster to fend off gangs of spiders which seem to have a malicious taste for Chibi Robos. The rigors of menial labor expends a lot of energy and Chibi has to constantly recharge its batteries by way of an electrical cord which plugs into an outlet. The cord trails Chibi and dangles loose and limp, which indicates that the furry-faced scientist who designed the robot had little regard for high-tech aesthetics. Average vacuum cleaners have retractable power cords which spool neatly into their interiors and yet a robotic wunderkind like Chibi-Robo suffers the indignity of a hanging cord... Bottom line: Live the life of a robotic housemaid and discover drama and high tension hijinx in mundane spaces. Product SKU: RVL-P-R24J JAN Code: 4902370517798 Japanese Product Name: Wiiであそぶ ちびロボ! NCS Game Notes » The game opens up with a scene in the Sandersons' living room. The Sandersons are celebrating daughter Jenny's birthday with soft drinks and a cake topped by 6 candles. The family dog is there too and looking on with wide blinking eyes. Jenny is wearing a frog costume and mom gifts her with a pink hat atop her frog costume head. Jenny shakes her head and allows the pink hat to fall in order to assert her choice of headwear. Dog has a gift for Jenny too in the form of a bone topped with a pink bow. Dad rummages around and presents Jenny with a strange looking contraption. After a bit of dialogue and gesticulating, the scene switches to the interior of the contraption and Chibi Robo is about to be brought into the Sanderson home. » With a push of a switch, the contraption sends forth gases from the top and music starts to play. Chibi Robo steps out amidst techno music and to applause from the Sanderson dad. Jenny and mom appear mystified by the little visitor but Jenny eventually gets into the swing of things and joins dad in showing Chibi some love. » Control is soon handed over to the player and the first task is to move Chibi Robo over to the vase, climb onto its rim, and take possession of the flower there. The Nunchuk and Wii Remote are used to maneuver Chibi Robo around the table top and eventually the entire Sanderson house. To trigger the next event, bring the flower to Jenny and give it to her. She'll blush and Chibi's first major assignment is completed. She'll blow out her birthday cake candles soon afterwards to applause from her parents. » In the next scene, Chibi Robo is back inside the little contraption and is recharging its batteries. You'll get the opportunity to save your progress to memory card at this point. » If Chibi Robo exits his little container at night, he can clean up around the house and watch the father sleep on the sofa. To pick up a piece of crumpled paper, walk over it and press the "A" button and Chibi will deposit it into his tin-head receptacle. To throw the paper into the rubbish, walk over to the flower-decorated trash can and perform a whipping motion with the Wii Remote to toss the crumpled paper into the bin. » A brush may be found in the center of the living room which can be used to clean up three ink stains on the carpet. To use the brush, press the "1" button on the Remote to select it and then hover the cursor over the ink stain. Chibi will hold the brush out and your job is to move the Remote up and down to scrub the stains away. » Every action uses up precious energy and Chibi only has 80 units of power with every full charge at the outset of the game. Chibi's battery capacity can however be upgraded. » On the next day, Jenny may be seen coloring in the living room and Chibi Robo can bond with her by stepping onto her palm. » Paw prints that leads from the doggie door should be cleaned with the brush every day.
