Description
Update: November 25, 2009
«©NCSX» Tomy celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Naruto franchise with a new Wii action-adventure game that stars an older, lankier, and somewhat wiser Naruto. Sakura and Kakashi are in tow along with an assortment of friendlies as well as dragon enemies that can only be slain with Dragon Blades. Naruto and Sakura have new spiffy costumes they can wear along with nifty accessories. Characters from Sasuke's earlier upstart group Team Hebi (Jugo, Karin, and Suigetsu) also join the cast of characters.

The first production of Naruto will ship with a bonus messenger bag that's being given away by Tomy in 50% ratio.

NCS Game Notes
» The cinematic intro to the game shows Naruto and friends in their young adult forms. They're no longer squat and toddler-like.

» At the outset of the game, Kakashi and Naruto are standing in a forest clearing along with a number of wooden crates. Naruto's job is to push two crates onto two white outlines on the ground. To accomplish this feat, use the Nunchuk to position Naruto behind a crate and then press and hold the "C" button to push them into place. After completing the simple task, the ground starts shaking and Kakashi and Naruto spirit themselves off to investigate. Proper control is handed over to the player at this point where Naruto stands before a bridge with red columns on either side. In the distance, the disturbance in town kicks up a cloud of dust. When Naruto gets to town, the destruction is evident with cracked walkways and debris everywhere. Soon afterwards, the first battle against two henchmen begins. Whenever an enemy is destroyed, it gives up a little burst of shimmering baubles that are immediately drawn into Naruto. Objects in the environment may also destroyed.

» The controls require both the Nunchuk and Remote. The "A" button attacks, the "B" button forces Naruto to jump, and the "Z" button performs a forward barrel roll for evasive maneuvering.

» The enemies in the first stage are ploddingly inadequate and not very challenging. Three hits kills each one and they almost seem reluctant to raise their arms against Naruto. Maybe they think he's their new pet. Later enemies provide more of a challenge. A stone dragon which breathes out rocks is encountered early in the game. It's slow but it spews out a rockslide of sorts which peppers the ground. Too bad (for the dragon) that Naruto can avoid the rockslide by simply standing directly in front of the dragon's maw. The monster also pounds the ground with its paws which causes Naruto to be stunned if he's standing on the ground when the impact occurs. To avoid getting stunned, jump and double-jump whenever the dragon pounds the floor. Despite defeating the dragon with a finishing Remote-wagging move, the dragon sends Naruto to the infirmary which is an inavoidable cut scene that follows the encounter. You'll be able to save your progress to memory after the hospital scene.
