«©NCSX» When a world is plunged into darkness and beset by vampires, two heroes rise up with the power of the Sun and the Moon to bring light back into the world. On one side is Sabata, purple haired warrior with a penchant for melee weapons who travels with a vampiric feline named Nero. From time to time, Nero meows like a man and offers advice. On the other side is Django who carries the Gun de Sol and uses projectile weapons to do his dirty work. Both vampire hunters travel in a game world that's reminiscent of the earlier GBA Boktai games but there's a new shooting sequence where the heroes get into a Casket Rocket and blasts vampires in the stratosphere for stylus tapping action.

NCS Game Notes
» In the intro to the game, Django and Sabata pose, glare, mouth words, and engage enemies in quick-cut sequences. A short demo of the Casket Rocket is also shown zooming into the stratosphere. Upon being prompted, tap on the touch screen and the following options pop up:

New Game.....Begin a new adventure
Load..............Resume a game from stored data
Option...........Wifi connectivity
Wireless........Activate wireless functionality

» Start a new game and a voice over explains the plight of a world plunged into darkness and the arrival of vampiric forces which take advantage. Enter two heroes who use sword, gun, and light to beat back the hordes. The game proper begins in a bar of some sort where a clown-like being and a Starfox look-alike with three earrings in its left ear stumbles onto the top NDS screen and addresses the player.

» Sabata appears with a vampire-cat with red eyes and bat wings named Nero. Soon afterwards, the game proper begins with an isometric playfield where movement is accomplished with the D-pad. There is no stylus movement support. The controls are as follows:

A....Charge moon/sun power
B....Shield
Y....Attack
X....Hold and move d-pad to view further down the screen/direction
L....Switch familiars (aka Terranials)
R....Lock-on to enemy

» Tap the Y button and release quickly to swing a sword. Press and hold the Y button and hero will begin the attack but hold off on actually swinging. To complete the swing, let go and it'll arc downwards. Press the attack button thrice in sequence and a combo will be performed which ends with a spinning attack. The game plays, looks, and moves like the GBA games before it with minimal use of the stylus at the outset. Never fear since the shooting sequences in the game can be controlled with the stylus.

» After destroying creatures, the coins they drop are automatically drawn to Sabata.

» To run, double tap on the d-pad in the direction of throttle and hero will turn white and throttle forward
