Capcom and manufacturer Sankin celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the fabled Street Fighter fighting series with a set of candy toys. Each toy package contains a randomly packaged figure measuring 7cm tall and a tasty packet of "Victory Gummi Candy." Ten standard figures are available along with 2 color variants of Ryu and Chun-Li. Please note that Sankin packages the toys in cartons containing six randomly sealed toys. There is no way to determine which figures are in the six individual boxes and NCS is selling the toys randomly. Repeat. Randomly. Full Stop. Randomly. Did we mention the figures are being sold randomly? (Yes, despite all the assertions, some will still ask if the figures are being sold randomly... Oh, the stories we could tell, dear readers). It would be GREAT and perhaps even sublime if manufacturers came to their senses and gave the toy buying public complete sets of these much desired toys instead of forcing random ferreting of figures but that doesn't seem likely in our lifetime. Each order for "1" Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Candy Toy at a cost of US$5.50 each will garner 1 individual candy toy containing one random figure. | I receive my shipment of Street Fighter Candy Toys today and was really excited to see what was inside these boxes. I ordered a case and NCSX delivered them promptly. The boxes are bigger than I expected. Inside the boxes are these tasty gummy candy shape like the victory icon from the very first Street Fighter II games. The figure inside the box is nicely package; like a carded action figure. The figure itself, however, are disappointing. Perhaps my expectation of them are too high or maybe I was tricked by the screen shots. These figures lack serious details. I expect high quality figures like the ones from the Metal Gear Solid 2 trading figure toys set. Instead I get these So-So, short stubby figures. The paint job is bad and the figures just don't look like the picture on the box and the screen shots. Because these types of toys are sold randomly, I called these types of toys trading figures. You trade them with your friends if you have duplicates. From the case that I bought, I received a Ryu, Sagat, Akuma, Guile, Cammy, and Chun Li figure. I would have preferred getting a M.Bison (Vega in the Japanese Version), and a Ken figure instead of Chun Li and Cammy, but four out of six isn't bad, and at least I didn't get any duplicates. Even though these figures didn't live up to my expectation, I am a huge Street Fighter fan and I like this product. You should get you hands on these figures as soon as possible because collectors like myself are buying them up. |
