Update: August 3, 2005 The latest Taiko no Tatsujin on the PS2 features 40 songs lifted from a spectrum of animation series including Mazinger Z, Detective Conan, One Piece, Galaxy Express 999, Bleach, Hamutaro, Gundam Seed Destiny, Anpanman, Kamen Rider, Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, Gold Gashbell, and many more. New mini-games include one where a mascot floats from the top of the screen while carrying an umbrella. To slow its descent, open the umbrella to buffet the winds. To drop like a stone, close the umbrella and plummet downwards. Another game features shooting water from supersoakers to hit targets in the distance. Yet another game features the skill of wooden paddle throwing for a total of six new mini-games to enjoy. NCS Game Notes * In the intro, one may witness such wonders as a Taiko no Tatsujin plane with a joystick on top, a Princess Taiko, aerial Taikos that join together to form a robot Voltron style, and other delights that are accompanied by an energetic song. * The top of the screen is where a player stares during the game but onlookers will check out the dancing characters on the bottom of the screen who twirl, bop, and stomp. There's masked tribal men in hula skirts, animals, the main characters, and more. As one succesfully thumps the drums during the game, a crowd will eventually rise up to view the histrionics.
