A new (May 15, 2003) Japanese Playstation 2 overhaul which removes the i.Link port but adds a built-in IR receiver, Progressive scan hardware support, DVD-R/-RW and DVD+R/+RW compatibility, and a quieter fan. Please note that NCS will now fill orders for the Japanese PS2 console with the new Midnight Black revision which was released in late December 2003. Attention: Japanese PS2 consoles are only capable of playing Japanese PS2, Asian PS2 and Korean PS2 software and Japanese Region 2 movie DVDs.
