Update: August 3, 2005 «©NCSX» Ichigo Kurosaki teams up with Rukia Kuchiki or any one of over 10 characters in a 3-D action game where the duo punches, slashes, and blasts searing attacks again gangs of hollows and bosses. The player control the main character while the partner is under the guidance of the COM. Sony dubs the team action "Pair Battle System" where the two heroes fight side-by-side and perform combination attacks of a momentous nature. Kira Iduru, Urahara Kisuke, Rankgiku Matsumoto, Abarai Renji, Toshiro Hitsugaya, and Yasutora Sado are some of the other partners that may be teamed up with. For expert players who complete the game, a number of secret characters (some of them are listed above) are unlocked for a bit of variety in the match-ups. The game features a total of 31 missions which are basically jaunts against Hollow forces and their bosses. To maintain the atmosphere of the animation, SCE commissioned all of the voice actors from the series to voice the characters in the action-slasher. The creator of the Bleach phenomenon, Kubo Tite, also supervised production of the game to maintain its authenticity to the source material. The game title translates to "Bleach Selected Soul." | Nemmo (9): Another Anime Game... |
 |
| This was kinda a surprise to me. My friend got me this randomly. Ok, so Bleach: Erabareshi Tamashi, is based off of the anime of the same name. For the record, let me say, Im a little glad I got this for free. No offense, this game is "allright", but I would not spend the $65 dollars to import it. The basis of Bleach is basically just a run around, hack n slash type of deal. The player can pick two of ten characters, but Im pretty sure you can unlock more. I usually pick Ichigo and the guy with the Bow and Arrows. You run around, pressing different combinations of square and triangle (just like Dynasty Warriors), pressing X will make you do a Combo move that Im still not sure how to master, and pressing select will let you change characters. Now, both charcaters are always on screen, the second character is computer controlled. Often I have found myself having nothing to fight because my computer friend has already slain everything, not to mention the fact that he will be getting slashed at left and right, and will take absolutely no damage. One level, just to proove I could, I sat back and watched as my partner beat the level for me. The camera angle is just flat out bad. Basically, its a 360 degrees camera, but it stops wherever you move it, I frequently found myself getting damaged just because I either had to move the camera to an angle where I could actually tell whats going on, or because my charcater has to finish his attack animation. Another thing about the attacks in this game, they arent really too different from each other. square triangle looks just like square square triangle. And the sound effects for inflicting damage is annoying. Each enemy has one sound effect...that youll hear over...and over... On the bright side however, the graphics on the characters are good. Nothing spectacular, but still good to look at. The backgrounds range from extremely dull ( a very very empty parking lot) to decent (a house in the middle of a forest). The game is still fun, and deserves a play through if you like the anime. All in all, I would not recommend this game. If your a fan of the show (I am), wait for the price to drop, or for it to come to America.
Good
The game has nice graphics and alot of style
Bad
The game gets very repeatitive and a 2 year old monkey could beat it.
Ditto
The load screens rawk, theres a tiny mini game where you fiddle the joystick to make a picture. |
