Subtitled the Revolutionary War of Zeon, Bandai revisits the One Year War from the Gundam historical archives. In the year Universal Century 0079, Archduke Degin Zabi of the Zeon Republic declares a war of independence against the Earth Federation. Igniting a massive assault dubbed Operation British, Degin machinates the deaths of 3 billion people on Earth. Through the course of the year, Giren Zabi, the eldest son of Degin Zabi would succeed his father for control of the Zeon forces. Half of Earth's population is eventually decimated in UC0079. Mobile Suit Gundam: Giren's Ambition gives players the option of taking the side of the Earth Federation or the Principality of Zeon. As a participant in either warring nation, the action spills out in a tactical strategy game where Gundam suits and Zakus are arrayed in decisive battle campaigns taken from the Gundam mythos. In addition to troop movement and attacks, a healthy amount of CG animation propels the action forward with team interaction scenes and striking field battles shown in vivid cinematic bursts.
