Virtua Fighter 4 has been out and about at arcades since 2001 and the Final Tuned version of VF4 has been available since July 2004. In the months since VF4: FT has been available, players have had ample time to hone their abilities and perfect their craft. Since VF4 is such a balanced and versatile fighting game, various fighting styles and techniques may be adopted by players to counter the style and techniques of others.

Virtua Fighter Final Tuned features new moves for all of the fighters and new backgrounds for everyone. When playing a single-player game against the AI, two options are offered: Original or Challenge mode. The latter pits the player against fighters and the way to win a match is to perform certain objectives or meet a requirement during the 2-round match.

To showcase the best VF4: FT (Ver. A) fighters across Japan, Arcadia Magazine and Sega sponsored a number of tournaments this past summer and captured the matches on crisp video. The DVD contains 55 matches of the best fighters facing off against each other and showing recognizable styles, moves, combos, and grappling throws.
