Update: June 29, 2006
«©NCSX» After the carnage and bloodshed of the All-Tokyo Street War, a biker gang known as Soul Crew stepped in and quelled the violence. With diplomacy as well as powerful smackdown fighting skills, Soul Crew united the gangs and toughs under a single badge. When the leader of Soul Crew is murdered, factions splinter off from the old power structure with former Soul Crew stalwarts Yusaku Kudo forming Neo Soul and Joe Inagai forming Shinjuku MAD. Six other gangs also rise up in a new struggle for power. One day, an invitation is sent to the leaders of all eight gangs, requesting their participation in a fighting tournament which will determine primacy. Whomever wins in the one-on-one matches will be deemed worthy enough to take control of the streets of Tokyo...

The year 2006 marks the 10th Anniversary of Sega's AM2 coin-op fighting game known as Last Bronx. Whereas AM2's Virtua Fighter series featured safe and sanitary fighters such as Pai and Jacky, the cast of Last Bronx was made up of grungy, street-wise, and hardened gang leaders who battle with weapons such as nunchaku, wooden swords, and massive hammers. Running at a crisp 60fps, Last Bronx offers fluid animation, crisp character models, and responsive game play.

» The conversion is pretty much perfect and 1:1 with the coin-op original. The fighters move fast and attacks and combos flow in fluid motion. The code is ported over so perfectly that the little polygon fade-outs from the original arcade version are retained. The fade-outs don't happen often but they do appear sporadically during the winning stance screens. Either the D-pad or L-Analog stick may be used to control a fighter. The default button configuration is as follows:

Default button configuration
O-BUTTON / Kick
X-BUTTON / Punch
TRIANGLE / Punch
SQUARE / Guard
L1-TRIGGER / Punch + Guard
R1-TRIGGER / Punch + Kick
L2-TRIGGER / Punch + Kick + Guard
R2-TRIGGER / Kick + Guard

» The button configuration may be switched to preset modes for the Sega Saturn Pad, Virtua Stick, or Standard PS2 joystick with default settings for each. A custom user-configuration may also be set.

» The official storyline from the 9th image in the third gallery:
In the summer of 199X, the young urban tribes are engaged in a non-stop battle for control of the streets. To bring the endless warfare to an end, it is decided that the tribe leaders will fight each other in a decisive one-on-one battle. That final battle is now about to take place... Who will gain control of the city? Will Tokyo finally be unified under one ruling tribe. The hour of reckoning is here...
